Edward Ziolkowski Obituary

Edward M. Ziolkowski, of Waltham, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, in his home after a sudden illness. He was 94. The loving and devoted son of the late Valentine and Rozalia (Sosnowski) Ziolkowski, he was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and lived for a short in time in Connecticut before moving to Waltham where he has resided for over 50 years. Mr. Ziolkowski was a successful engineer in areas such as ionospheric propagation, having been employed by the Raytheon Company and then retired from Honeywell where he was a Group Director. Before the WW II he had worked for WGN in Chicago. During World War II he worked as a civilian engineer with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. He then went to work with the Submarine Signal Corp out of New London, Conn. He gave his grandnephew an incredible family past, together they enjoyed a wonderful present, and with his great grandniece he saw an amazing future. We love and miss him. The brother of the late Hedwig, Henry, Al, Olenka and Sigmund Ziolkowski, Rose Schmid and Sophie Brady, he is survived by his nieces, grandnieces and nephews and great grandnieces and nephews. Committal Services and Interment will be held at a future date in Chicago. The Brasco and Sons Memorial of Waltham is assisting the Ziolkowski Family with arrangements.
