Cornelia MOORE Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Cornelia Bond Gardner Moore (Jill) died on Oct. 14, 2012, at the Dominion Village Senior Living Facility in Williamsburg.
Jill was born on Jan. 3, 1923, in the Five Forks area. She was the first of 11 children born to John H. and Clay Bond Gardner, both of whom predeceased her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis W. Moore and her only child, Charles W. Moore. Also five brothers, Delaware B, Robert M, Neal E, Henry C, and Daniel W. Gardner; two sisters, Jacqueline G. Nuttall, and Christine G. Bell; and two half-sisters, Thelma G. and Frances G. Williams.
Jill is survived by one granddaughter, Shani Moore, and two great-granddaughters, Celia and Una Horne, all of California. Other survivors are one brother, John H. Gardner Jr., and two sisters, Elizabeth G. Davis and Dale G. Teagle, and a large extended family.
Jill grew up in Norge, Va., and graduated from Toano High School. Following graduation, she moved to the Newport News/Hampton area, where she lived until this year when she moved back to Williamsburg to be near her family. She worked in the accounting field most of her life.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Olive Branch Christian Church, 7643 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Interment will be private.
Following the service, a reception for family and friends will be held in the Education Building at Olive Branch.
For the loving and kind treatment and care Jill received, the family wishes to express its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of the Dominion Village Senior Facility as well as to the volunteers and staff of the Sentara Hospice/Home Care Services.
In lieu of flowers, please support the Alzheimers Foundation or a favorite charity.
