Roger DOSS Obituary

HAMPTON - Roger Lee Doss, 62, passed away at home on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, surrounded by loved ones. He was a native of Lynchburg and a resident of Hampton for 24 years.
Roger served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an ammunitions maintenance specialist and rose to the rank of MSgt. He served in the Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Desert Shield conflicts and retired after 24 years of service.
Roger is preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Neelasunthorn; and parents, Edgar and Ruth Doss.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jamlong Doss; sons, Somchai Neelasunthorn and his children, Chai and Hannah, David W. Doss and his wife, Stacy and their daughter, Savannah (Hanover, Pa.), and Willie A. Doss and his wife, Jessica and their sons, Seth and Caleb (Norfolk); brother, Roy Doss; sisters, Gloria Klacynski and Pat Davis; and granddaughter, Jeranant Neelasunthorn (Long Beach, Calif.).
The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 7, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Parklawn–Wood Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Fox Hill Road Baptist Church, 335 Fox Hill Road, in Hampton, on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 1 p.m., with military honors, and officiated by the Rev. Tommy Larson. Interment will be held privately.
