I met Andy about 7 years ago when I worked at Hot Dog King #2 and had continued to remain friends with him since. He was so full of life and loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was a great friend and always willing to help out if he could. It was almost hard for him to say the word "no" sometimes. With his held held high and his heart always willing to help others, there was nothing that this man couldn't do. He will be greatly missed by me and my family. I pray for William. I pray he knows that his father was such an amazing man and that he would have done anything for him. He always put William as his #1. Rest in peace Andy. God took an angel home.

Please accept our deepest sympathy in the death of your loved one, Andy. I'm sorry that we did not know Andy but judging from the entries in the guest book, Andy must have been a wonderful young man. We send you our heartfelt appreciation for the beautiful flowers we received from Peninsula Funeral Home in Andy's memory. We have divided them into several vases and shared them with the secretaries and Preschool teachers. Prayers for Andy were attached to each arrangement. May God bless you and your family at this most difficult time.

To the Starmer and Superior Towing Families,

I am very saddened to hear of the sensless loss of another hero. The towing community is a small tight knit one. My brother John worked with Andy several years ago; he too gave his life for the job he so loved.
Only family and close friends can understand the dangers tow truck drivers face every time they put on the brakes to help a stranded driver or clean up wreckage with traffic zooming by. You pray for their safety every time they go to work and thank God every time they come home safe. Even knowing all the dangers involved, nothing in the world can prepare you for the one time they don't come home.

I truely feel your pain and grieve with you. I hope you can find comfort in knowing how many lifes Andy has touched. When you are stranded on the side of the road, the sense of security you get knowing someone is on the way to help you is priceless.

To the family and friends of Andy, I send my deepest regret of our lost. I was the towing enforcement officer for the Newport News Police Department for many years. I was sadden by the news of the accident which cost him his life. I was out of town and was unable to attend the service. May God Bless all of us with the strength and courage to continue. August 13, 2009
This is Dan Jenkins Sr. I was Andy's cub scout leader. I must admit he was one of my favorite little cubbies. I remember how eager he was to learn to be a good scout, and I recall his many visits and his over night stays with Tom and Danny. He was a good little house guest and they all got along so well. He always called me "Mr. Jenkins" even up to the last time he did some work for me a couple of months ago. He was an oustanding, fine young man I shall surely miss him.
Andy, thank you for the wonderful memories!! Rest assured Daisey, God loves him! "Mr. Jenkins"
I regret that I found out about Andy's passing too late to attend the funeral.
