These messages were so nice. I hadn't realized there was an active guestbook on-line. Thank you all for your sentiments, condolences, and for me especially the memories. It's really comforting to read these messages. Thank you from Nicole Tarlton Cole - Charles' daughter.

I have fond memories of Charles. We were raised up together in the Phoebus area of Hampton. We attended both elementary and high school together and graduated in the class of 1954 from Phenix. May Jesus continue to bless you during and after your time of bereavement.

I met Charlie T, as we affectionately called him, in 1986 when I first entered the postal service in 1986. He took me under his wing as if I were his son.
I remember how he would always bring me drinks during the hot summer days when I carried his route.
When Jesus was asked "when were you thirsty and I gave you drink, when were you hungrey and I fed you" he responded, "when you do it for the least you do it for me also." I thank you Charlie for showing me the face of God in your spirit. I'll truly miss you pops.

To the Tarlton family,
I wish I could take away the pain your heart is going through, but just know Charles is no longer in that pain, but at peace with the Lord. He was loved by everyone who knew him, but God loved him best.
Charles, take care.
with love from your cousin,

To the Tarlton family my sincere condolences. I knew your father all my life. He bowled with my Dad the late Leonard M. Johnson on the same team for over 30. The old Pioneer League. Your father was a Pioneer in many ways and I was blessed to share that experience. Find comfort in knowing that your Father now rest with Our Father.
