Donald Lee Obituary

HAMPTON - Deacon Donald Allen Lee Sr., 66, of Hampton, Va., departed this life on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Portsmouth, VA.
Deacon Lee was born on Feb. 28, 1943 in Beckley, W.Va. He was the son of the late Oscar Lee and the late Edmonia Hoover. He was also preceded in death by his son, Gary Kenneth Lee.
Deacon Lee was a man of great faith, and of strong conviction. As a deacon, he stood up for what was morally right, and was a true servant of the people. Deacon was a retiree of the U.S. Air Force, as well as the U.S. Post Office. He will always be remembered by his loving family.
Deacon Lee is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Gloria J. Lee; son, Donald A. Lee Jr. and wife, Willena; four grandchildren, Donald A. Lee III, Denric A. Lee, Wispree L. Lee, and Dallen A. Lee; three sisters, Norma J. Lee, Laura B. Moten, and Nancy L. Wells and husband, William; one brother, George L. "Buck" Lee; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
His family would like to thank the saints for their thoughtful prayers, as well as the faculty and staff of the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at the chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, with Prophet James D. Bethea, officiating. Interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery with full Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. today, Oct. 25, 2009, at the funeral establishment.

Mrs. Lee and family the book of Psalms tells us blessed in the sight of the Lord is death of one of his saints. I have had a chance to work closely with you all at Riverside Convalescent Center in fact you all were there when I wasn't. and I know that now the Peace of God which surpasses all understanding shall guard your heart and mind thru Christ Jesus. I send my full condolences to Mrs. Gloria Lee and Family, I have been knowing the Lee Family since (1994). I was a classmate to their son, Gary Lee (deceased). Mrs. Lee and family, may the Lord cover and keep you during your hour of loss. It has been both a pleasure and a blessing to know Mr. Lee.
