Oh no... Gen Small, I will always remember you considering the time that you worked at the UN peacekeeping mission in Angola through Raytheon along with Marshall Clarks, Thomas Pap Holden, Greg and other good and great work colleagues. remember when you met me with TP Holden in the office concerned about the workshop operation to fix the vehicles to be sent out to different locations where the UN blue helmets and other workers were deployed. So supportive and inspiring the way you dealt with it. We lost a great man and a General that will continue in our hearts. RIP General Hank Small!

To the family, I hope you know how much your loved meant the the 116th AHC. He was a great man and they respected him above all else. I appreciated all his efforts on my brother's behalf when we were attempting to obtain medals for the crew killed 2/21/69. Even though they were not under his command at that time he put forth valiant efforts on their behalf. I know he will be missed by all. Linda Wilsher-Clance, they call me Lil Sis.

Dear Shirley, Bob, Cheryl, Chip and extended network of family and friends...I extend my most heartfelt condolences and sympathies for the loss of so special a person, a friend, a husband and father as Hank. Humble by nature and a giant in the spirit of love and service, his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched in ways great and small. Your family's kindness and generosity to Ray & me burns brightly in my own memories...and your presence in my life was a special blessing after Ray's sudden passing. I think Ray must have been waiting to welcome Hank into Heaven. <3 You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you Strength, Grace & Peace, Elaine

It is with profound sorrow we learned of General Small's death. I served as his Provost Marshal at Ft. Eustis in 1981. He was a giant of a man within the Transportation Corp and to those who worked for him. I remember his town meetings and when someone would ask a police question, he would turn to me and say "Sheriff, how you going to handle that?" Our condolences to his wife and family.

Dear Shirley,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Hank. Y'all were our next door neighbors in Poquoson. Hank and I had lots of chats across the back fence and on the path behind my house when he used to walk his dog. He would often come over and talk with me as I worked in my garden. He was a good guy and I enjoyed our time together. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Shirley,
I (while in Canada) learned of Hank's death and wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to you and your dear family. As you know so well, he was a special man who lived a "greater life" and who earned the respect and admiration of many. Count me in that group; his friendship meant a lot to me. May you know God's sustaining grace in a meaningful way at this time.
