I was the Choir Director at Fox Hill Central for a short time in the 80's. It gave me great comfort that no matter how difficult the music I chose, Jewel Mae would be able to play it. From the classics to gospel, she played everything with great technique and passion. I'll especially remember a piano/organ duet of "O Holy NIght" that we played together one Christmas Eve. I really had to practice to keep up with her!

I will always remember her sitting behind that organ playing her heart out or walking past the house stopping to speak with kind words and a beautiful smile to follow. She was truly a light to us all through the years . I will always remember with great appreciation and love.

To the family - thank you for sharing your mother, grandmother with so many for so long. Ms. Winn will be sadly missed, yet her legacy will live on at Fox Hill Central. Her style and grace are irreplaceable. We've been around music our whole life and have never heard anyone play the organ such as she did. But, it's no wonder since her dedication was shown by her 6 a.m. practice sessions on a regular basis. It was important to her that each and every note be played with perfection because she said it was her "gift to God". His light certainly shone through her. Her genuine hugs and giant smile we will always cherish and remember. The early morning chats and the support she showed for the contemporary music program were just a few ways she touched us personally. When her parents named her "Jewel", we're sure they couldn't have known how "priceless" she would become.

A reflection of Christ to those who were blessed to cross her path. An encourager to musicians and singers. A friend to all who knew her. To her family, thanks for sharing her with us and know that you are covered by the many prayers she offered up for each of you. And while the hurt of her passing will last for a while, the rejoicing in heaven will be forever.

Not only has the Church Community lost a beautiful and gratious soul, the entire Fox Hill Community has lost part of its heart. Miss Jewel Mae was such a dear sweet lady, loving Mother and the best pianist and organist on earth. All of us who were her friends and students grieve her family's loss. With Deepest Sympathy,

We all loved Jewel Mae. She was a wonderful Mother-In-Law to David and a part of our family too. I know she was a loved grandmother to Carla too. I also have fond memories of taking piano lessons from Jewel Mae. We will all miss her and we send our love and condolences to the family.

There will be songs played and songs sung that will cause us to pause and think of this sweet gentle soul. And we will never see the organ and not remember her in her place. But she was also our gardening buddy. We will think of her, too, when the roses bloom in the Spring and the cannas come up in the Summer.

The kindest, gentlest, and most compassionate prayer warrior I have ever had the privilege to know has gone on to become first chair organist for the heavenly choir. Her legacy as an accomplished musician will certainly live on through the countless lives she touched with her passion for music only surpassed by her love of family. I give thanks to the Lord and the entire Winn family for sharing her with us! May God’s peace help comfort and sustain you.

I will always be grateful for the influence Miss Winn had upon Kayleigh. Their piano lessons together when Kayleigh was a little girl were so much more -- they were life lessons -- and she gave so willingly of herself to so many for so many years. Her legacy to all of us is to be the best people we can and to share our time and talents with others. God bless each of you.

Mrs. Winn was such a sweet, kind person. I will remember her as my piano teacher, church organist and friend. Fox Hill Central will not be
the same without her at the piano or
organ. Even though her church family
will miss her I am sure there will be
a void in the lives of her family. Share good memories together. I am sure she is celebrating with music in heaven.

Jewel Mae was a wonderful person. I enjoyed stopping by and talking to her about the family history from time to time. She was so well informed and had the answers to all of my questions. I learned quite a bit from her. She loved you all very much and was very proud of all of you. Now you must continue her example until you meet her again someday. I am proud to say that I was related to such a fine, godly woman. May God bless you all and give you strength in this time of loss.
