To The Family Of Mary Lee Bumpus:

I was sadden to hear about the passing of your mother. When we loose someone that we love, it seems like time just stands still. I don't know why some things happen, but I know that love and beautiful memories outlast the pain of grief. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Coming home from work and not seeing and speaking to Lee on her porch will not be the same. I am forever gratful for the words of encouragement that she gave to me when my mother was sick. I will never forget her.

Sorry to hear of Ms. Lee's passing. She was a beautifl person whom I enjoyed talking to throughout the year's while living on Oak Avenue. God has called her home and He make no mistakes. She's in a house not build by hands. May your family be blessed.

During my visits to the Hampton/Newport News area to visit Kevin, Lynnette, Nick and Devan, Mrs. Bumpus always made sure that I felt like a part of the family. She was always a great joy to visit with. I pray a special prayer for comfort for Barbara and all of the members of this family.

I can remember making numerous summer trips to Newport News from Connecticut to spend with "Grandma" as we all called her. She was such a sweet and loving, person who always told it like it was. She was very kind hearted and was such a joy to be around. She kept you laughing. I'm really going to miss her. I will keep the family in my prayers. May God bless each and every one of you.
