Ophelia WILLIAMS Obituary

POQUOSON - Ophelia Sue Williams, 83, went to be with the angels on Thursday, April 8, 2010.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Poquoson, and retired as a custodian with Poquoson Public Schools. She was a member of the Virginia Peninsula Campers Association and the Oldtimers Roller Skating Club. She was an avid bingo player, and loved crocheting.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Earl Williams Sr.; her parents, Elton "Pots" and Laura Topping; a son, Robert "Bobby" Williams; three brothers, Marshall, Vernon, and Bubba Topping; and a sister, Laura Mae Eledge.
She is survived by a son, Earl Williams Jr. (Geneva); two daughters, Linda King (Doug) and Patricia Pigford (Donald); a daughter-in-law, Lesa Williams; a special aunt, Lillian Pelesz; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, and other times at 180 Little Florida Road, Poquoson. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home, by the Rev. Milford C. Rollins. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.

Aunt Sue, what a strong woman of the family to lose but you have been strong for everyone for a very long time! Now you are with your brothers and sisters and Earl Sr and Bobby. Tell Grandpa Bubba I love him and you all will always be with everyone especially when we are sad, making us strong!

I was so very sorry to hear of Ophelia's passing. I have known her all my life and will miss her dearly. Sorry that we cannot be there with family as we are in Florida. Again, our sincere condolences to her entire family.

Patty, Geneva and Sandy,
I was sorry to here Mrs. Williams passing. She was such a nice person and I am greatful to be able to know her and Mr. Williams, they also brought smiles to everyones faces, and what smiles they had too. I just know their camping with my grandparents and making plans to go rollerskating.

To my southern family~
I will miss Sue as I miss Earl and Bobby! I know she's had difficult times and at peace now, but especially with those who loved her throughout her life. Comfort is in our memories and we have so many!! Mom & Dad are glad to see her~I told her to be making them all fried chicken, butter beans and STINKY PIE! Love you all! I mean Y'ALL! XO

I am sorry to read about Miss Ophelia's passing. I know she will be missed not only by the family she leaves behind but by many friends as well. She has now been welcomed home with open arms and now with Mr Earl and Bobby once again. May you all find comfort in knowing she is at peace and in God's hands.
