Wendy ROGERS Obituary
She was born on March 1, 1975, in Newport News, Va., the beloved daughter of Gerold Rogers and the late Beverly Rogers-Thornton.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, William Rogers and Grady Wise.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Redfearn; her children, Anthony Tyler Rogers and Hayleigh Nicole Redfearn; stepmother, Louise Rogers, stepfather, Walt Thornton; grandmothers, Annie Rogers, Sara Wise, and Doris Riley; brothers, Steven Carter, Mark McDaniel, Derrick Bull; sisters, Lena McFatter and Stephanie Thornton. Wendy was loved by many other relatives and loved ones.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. on April 26, 2010, at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd. Newport News, Va. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to a memorial fund for her children. Donations can be made via paypal at [email protected].

Wendy your laughter and smile will never be forgotten. The memories we hold in our heart will build a bridge of comfort between us. Wendy I will never forget all the fun we had at work together you always knew how to make me laugh, even if I was having a bad day. I will miss you so much girl! Heaven now has a very special angel, please tell my pop that I just lost that I love him so much!Love ya girl one day we will see each other again. Until then I will always be thinking of you. Our hearts go out to you. Wendy was taken way too young, but now she has another purpose, to watch over us and hopefully to help guide us along. I did not know Wendy very well, but I'm glad that I got the opportunity to visit with her before her passing. We all change as we get older. I'm glad that had the time, although brief to talk with her. God Bless You

I was taken aback when I heard the news of Wendy's passing. Wendy was in my girl Scout troop as a young girl. I will always remember her smile and her laughter. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. I pray the Lord surround you with his angels to give you comfort and peace.

To the Family of Wendy
My prayers are with you during this most difficult time. Wendy and I worked together at Beauty Boutique assisting with making as many women beautiful by taking care of "whatever they did not want to see anymore"!! She was always a joy and fun to work with and be around. Family, I know it is hard but know she is no longer in pain and no more suffering.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,

Wendy, a sweet caring young lady I was fortunate to know. I last seen her when she worked as a wax technician off Mercury. I loved to see her and catch up. She always kept her head up when a promblem came her way and had a great out look on things. It breaks my heart to know she is no longer here with us on earth but Wendy has passed on to a better life. I am sad for her family and friends. Such a young life....such a beautiful mom and great friend. Wendy I will see you again sista on the other side. Love ya

Wendy & I were childhood friends that grew apart as we got older. She made such an impression on me that will remain with me forever. Her courage till the end was admirable. It gave her peace to know that when the time had come, she would take the walk upstairs to be with god and be a guardian angel. It gives me comfort that I have such a wonderful person on my side. Wendy endured alot in her short life but she prevailed and fought until the very end. She will be missed dearly beyond imgaination. Till we meet again.

Wendy- I always loved how easy you were to talk to- and FUNNY. You were a good friend to me as well as a sister in law. I always admired your strength and for someone who had suffered so much loss at a young age, you had such a good sense of humor! Shalie and Austin have such vivid memories of staying with you and h...avin a great time. And you LOVED my brother. I will miss you- I don't think you realize how many lives you touched. I knew Wendy in high school. We worked together at Sbarros in the old NewMarket Mall. I enjoyed her fun loving friendship and her Mom's AWESOME spagetti! I am so sorry for your loss.
