Irene Baker Obituary

CARROLLTON, VA - Irene Baker, 83, passed away peacefully in her home in Carrollton, VA on June 25, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her daughter, Monica Bonno and two grandchildren, Chris Bonno and Lindsey Bonno, all of Newport Beach, CA and a host of loving, caring friends. Irene was a very active and well respected member of the Smithfield Community. She spent countless hours volunteering and fund raising for many community activities such as the Women's Club and the SPCA. She was a realtor in the community for over 30 years. Irene was blessed to be loved and adored by two great men that preceded her in death, Robert Warner and George Baker. It was Irene's wish not to have a formal funeral service. Should you wish to send a memorial donation in Irene's name, please make it to the Carrollton Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 77, Carrollton, VA 23314. Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. BAker was a very gracious lady I enjoyed talking to her as she was so friendly. I will miss seeing her at Smithfield Little Theatre. My deepest sympathy to her family.
