James "Mac" Ernest Proctor

James "Mac" Ernest Proctor, 84, of North Delphine Avenue, Waynesboro, passed away at 12:22 a.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Augusta Health.

He was born on July 15, 1926, in Maryland, the son of the late Robert Lee and Dosey E. Harley Proctor.

He retired as a health care provider and was a Baptist.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lydia Barbour; sisters, Lorraine Campbell, Shirley Campbell, Catherine Lewis; and a brother, Leroy Proctor.

Survivors include his wife of over 57 years, Shirley R. Proctor; two sons, James E. Proctor Jr. of Scottsville, David A. Proctor Sr. of Winchester; a daughter, Wanda Elaine Folks of Waynesboro; three brothers, Leo William Proctor, James Roland Proctor of Maryland, Maurice Proctor of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Frances Lewis of Maryland, Pearl Price of Maryland, Edna Colbert of Washington, D.C.; eight grandchildren, George Nicholson, Shawn Nicholson, Derrick Nicholson, Eric Folks and his wife, Tracey, David Proctor Jr., Lydia Folks, Derrick Barbour, Cher Barbour; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 West Main Street, Waynesboro by Brother David Roberts.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Aunt Shirley & Family,


I know I'm not a full member of the family yet but Ernest will be missed by me and my children. I only knew him for a short while but loved him just as much as if he were one of my own. I love you all and God Bless and may he continue to Bless You All.
