Thomas Brian Proctor, 63, passed away Friday December 12, 2025 at his home in Scott City, Kansas. He was born February 19, 1962 in Topeka, Kansas; the son of Joseph and Delene (Dodge) Proctor. He was a resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1985, moving from Dighton, Kansas.
As a young man Tom lived in Lincoln, Kansas and worked for the city. Later the family moved to Dighton where he began working in construction. He helped to build several elevators, ethanol plants, and other business buildings in the area. When tom moved to Scott City he continued his work in construction but also spent time as a feedlot night watchman. Tom loved to fish, archery hunting, and reading.
On October 10, 1987 he married Virginia (Wilken) Coberly, they divorced several years later. Together they adopted two children, their son- Zackery Proctor and their daughter- Olivia Proctor who both reside in Minneapolis, Kansas along with Virginia. Other surviving children include Jolana and Tim Collins of Salina, Kansas, Wendy Coberly of Scott City, Kanas, Taney and Josh Browning of Scott City, Kansas, Michael and Felicia Coberly of Holcomb, Kansas. He is also survived by his mother- Delene Proctor of Dighton, Kansas, brothers- Danny Proctor of Wichita, Kansas and Robert Proctor of Dighton, Kansas, sister- Kristina O'Connell. He has 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father- Joseph Proctor, infant sister- Diana Proctor, grandson- Cody Browning, and great-granddaughter- Evie Roberts.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Thomas Proctor Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Service details will be updated when available.
