Anna B. Koontz

Anna B. Koontz, 88, of Lake Monticello, died on Thursday, December 9, 2010, at her home.

She was born on February 16, 1922, in Page County, the daughter of the late Ivan D. Koontz and Edith Koontz.

She was a graduate of Madison College and received an MEd from the University of Virginia. She taught biology in the Suffolk School System and was later a librarian there.

Survivors include her sister, Dorothy K. Copeland; dear friend and companion, Ruthanna Foard; as well as three nieces and two nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Fork Union Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Joe Almond officiating the Reverend Ronald Standford. assisting. Interment will be held 3 p.m. at Mount Zion Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Luray, Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 or to the Fluvanna SPCA, P.O. Box 96, Palmyra, VA 22963.
