Aubrey Shifflett Obituary
Aubrey T. Shifflett, 66, of Keswick, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2009, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 22, 1943, in Greene County to the late Alexander Shifflett and Bernice Sandridge Shifflett.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Scott Shifflett; two brothers, Deane A. Shifflett and Melvin C. Shifflett.
Tommy worked as an auto mechanic for API Automotive Service for many years where he specialized in automatic transmissions. He loved working on cars and especially restoring his 1967 Ford Fairlane GTA.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Virginia "Sue" Shifflett; sons, Michael A. Shifflett and his wife, Joyce, Steven C. Shifflett and his wife, Lisa; a daughter, Teresa L. Crickenberger and her husband, Gregg; stepchildren, Robbin L. Shifflett, David L. Gibson, and Scott Gibson and his wife, Audrey; and numerous grandchildren; his first wife and mother of his children, Carolyn F. Jarman; brother, Claude W. Shifflett and his wife, Michelle; sister, Maxine Mundie Shipp and her husband, Henry; a half brother, James Shifflett; and a half sister, Trudy Lynch.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Holly Memorial Gardens with Brother Harlin Sykes officiating.
Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2009, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
