Barbara Terry

Mrs. Barbara Gough Terry, 76, of Covington, died on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. She was the wife of the late Robert Ryland "Bob" Terry.

Mrs. Terry was born August 4, 1933, in Albemarle County, the daughter of the late Robert Anthony Gough and Maggie Merle Hicks Gough. Before moving to Covington, Barbara worked at the University of Virginia in the payroll department.

Mrs. Terry is survived by a son, James Andy Terry of Covington; a daughter, Cynthia Terry of Covington; four grandsons, Robert Hendrick, Thomas Hendrick, William Hendrick and Robert Ryan Terry; one granddaughter, Brooke Marie Hickman; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Treynor of Covington and Pauline Gossard of Lima, Ohio.

Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by a son, John Robert Terry in 2005.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

The family received friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 138 North Maple Avenue, Covington and suggest that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Emmanuel Episcopal Church or to the Alleghany Highlands Humane Society, P.O. Box 60 Low Moor, VA 24457.
