Bessie Morris Crawford

Bessie Morris Crawford, 94, of Orange, died Friday, November 13, 2009, at the Dogwood Village of Orange.

She was born August 19, 1915, in Orange County, the daughter of the late James L. and Ethel Brown Morris. Her husband was the late James R. "Jim" Crawford.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Crawford was a former employee of the American Silk Mill in Orange and a member of the Barboursville Baptist Church.

Mrs. Crawford is survived by one daughter, Peggy C. Morris and her husband, Wayne, of Lake Anna; one son, Kenneth L. Crawford and his wife, Carol, of Barboursville; one brother, Robbie M. Morris of Orange; five grandchildren, Karen, Tim, Wayne, Sandra, and Gayle; six great-grandchildren, Bobby, Tee, Adam, Tiffany, Carmen, and Colleen; one great-great- grandchild, Jade; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at the Preddy Funeral Home in Orange with interment to follow at the Graham Cemetery. the Reverend Robby Burke will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2009, at the funeral home.
