You don't know me, but Bobby, David Gentry and I were best friends in high school. Bobby was 2 years older than us, and used to pick us up behind the railroad tracks when we used to skip school. Bobby helped to teach me how to work on cars and turned me on to Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. To this day, whenever I hear a song by one of them, Bobby is in the back of my mind. I've looked him up a couple of times over the years.I can tell you this. There are only a handful of people who have influenced me and shaped me into the person I am today, but I promise you, Bobby was near the top of the list. I will always have many fond memories, you wouldn't believe the trouble we used to get into, but I will always remember him fondly, Ironically, I was thinking of him the very day he died, when I heard a Led Zepplin song. I really believe we had a unique mental connection from when we were kids that never went away. I am very sorry he is gone, and really wish I could have seen him just one more time to tell him he mattered, and I loved him.If anyone wants to contact me, I can be reached at [email protected]
