Cathy Mae Jackson
Cathy Mae Jackson, 47 formerly of Esmont, departed this life peacefully at home in Charlottesville on Thursday, May 20, 2010, surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born on July 12, 1962, the daughter of Shirley Anderson and James Roger Perkins.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary Anderson, Roger "Bunny" Perkins and James "Ben" Perkins; and one niece Shana M. Anderson.
Cathy was baptized and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Buckingham County. She was employed by the Colonnades as a chef. Cathy was a devoted family woman who loved and cared for many people. She also enjoyed hosting family functions, spending her time with her grandchildren and enjoying watching the Dallas Cowboys play football.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted, fiance, James Turner and his two sons, Cecil and Brandon Turner; her two sons, Lionel and Jamel Jackson; two daughters, Chanell Jackson and Akia Turner, all of Charlottesville; her mother, Shirley Anderson of Esmont; her father, James R. Perkins of Buckingham; 11 grandchildren Lanaja, Trevon, Khatron, Rayquel, Serenity, Jamez, Lamari, Khamari, Sinniyah, Zakiyan and Zakee; eight sisters, Sarah Spencer and Sally Anderson of Charlottesville, Laura Booker of Palmyra, Joyce Alston of Maryland, Sharon Jones and Wanda Woodson of Buckingham County, Kathy Edwards of North Carolina, and Robin Perkins of Richmond; one brother, Chester Anderson of Esmont; one devoted friend and sister, Dorothy Turner; five brothers-in-law, Larry Spencer, Danny Booker, Bennie Woodson, Warner Alston and Louis Edwards; the father of her children, Hubert Jackson of Esmont; four special friends Tasha Washington, Alva Durrette, Raycine Allen and Barry Douglas; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Mount Zion First African Baptist Church with Dr. Earl Pendleton officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at the funeral home.

Cathy its so hard to believe that your gone I use to love walking into work looking forward to your big smile you always knew how to brighten someones day. you will be greatly missed and always remembered for some reason thats unclear to us god needed his precious angel back and I know that you are looking down on us and I know your fine.
