Debbie,
Just learned of your lost today and wanted to tell you how sorry we are for your lost. Dan was a customer & friend of Blueridge Motor Works, and such a kind, sweet person. He will be greatly missed.
Kindest Regards,

I had the honor of knowing Dan and serving with him on the Amherst Lifesaving and First Aid Crew in the late 1970's. When people needed help and were at their very worst, Dan was there with his very best. His compassion, caring and dedication to serving others was matched by his humor and fun-loving nature. There are people alive and families complete today thanks to Dan. What a wonderful legacy. He will always be that guy with the mop of red hair riding to the rescue in his beloved blue Triumph rag-top.

The unforgettable soft smile is a very true and apt memory . . . as are his soft-spoken ways.
Soft-spoken, that is, unless it was late, and in the middle of a really good party, standing off to the side of the room at 1533 Virginia Ave, with the other "dateless wonders" :-)
A great friend and fraternity brother, Dan is missed by many.

A smile you could never forget, an upbeat personality and spirit that could never be discouraged. Faced off against an awful illness that
he could not beat but never gave up. A confirmed batchelor that decided to marry and have a family, that he did successfully. A great
old friend of mine for 28 years long after I left the area. I will miss
visiting him on my trips back to VA. Rest in Peace Dan you will never be forgotten here!! Jim Henderson - New City, New York.

Dan and I were hallmates in our first-year dorm at UVA. His "cat that just ate the canary" grin will forever be ingrained in my memory. Godspeed, Dan.

I always enjoyed working with Dan. I remember going to the first house he bought on McIntire Road and listening to Jazz albums. He loved Jazz music and had more albums than anyone I knew. Keith and I were amazed at his collection.

I'll always remember his quick wit and fun personality. He seemed to be so happy with his wife and family. We'll miss you Dan!
