Elizabeth Ann Yeatman, 84, of Charlottesville, went home to her maker on Sunday, November 8, 2009.

Elizabeth was born on December 17, 1924, in Pharr, Texas. She had lived in Virginia since 1992, after moving here from Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil, of 55 years, in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her son, Lawrence "Larry" Yeatman; both of her parents and grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.

Elizabeth is survived by a son, Curtis Duane Yeatman and his wife, Susan, of Flower Mound, Texas; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth McGowan and her husband, Jim, of Charlottesville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

During her many years of working she retired after 23 years in the insurance industry. She was a claims adjuster at the time of her retirement.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Naples, Texas. When needed she taught adult Sunday school. Elizabeth was also a member of the Naples Jonguil Garden Club.

Services will be held in Texas at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
