Gladys E. Morris

Gladys E. Morris, 87, of Crozet, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 23, 2009, at her residence.

She was born September 21, 1922, in Virginia, to the late William James Sprouse and the late Rosa Breeden Sprouse.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Walter Morris; two sisters, Mary Miller and Rosalie Morris; two brothers, William and John Sprouse; and a great-grandson, Parker.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Shifflett of Crozet and Nancy Trayler of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Virginia Herrell of Nebraska; four grandchildren, Chris, Charles and Robbie Shifflett and Leslie Trayler; and seven great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Catherine, Kayla, Alyse, Peter, Jade and Johanna.

A graveside inurnment service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at Holly Memorial Gardens conducted by The Reverend Alan Thompson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Frances Wyant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 or Meals on Wheels, 270 Stillfried Lane, Charlottesville, VA 22903.

She will always be remembered as my "2nd grandma". My prayers are with Linda, Nancy, Charles and the rest of the family. May your heart rest in the knowledge that she is in heaven. She will live on in our hearts.
