Mae J. Corker, 81, of Louisa, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at her home.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Gladys K. Johnson; her husband, Carroll Corker; her infant daughter, Linda Corker; her brother, W.T. "Bill" Johnson Jr.; and her sister, Vivian Vawter.

Mae is survived by two daughters, Ann C. "Brenda" Olsen of North Carolina, and Carolyn Lewis and her husband, Rick, of Richmond, Virginia; five grandchildren, William E. Sullivan IV, Melissa Sher and her husband, John, Heather Edwards and her husband, Pete, First Lieutenant Richard G. Lewis II, Sarah Lewis; four great-grandchildren, Hannah and Ryan Sher, Joshua and Lucas Edwards; three brothers, Ralph Johnson, Wade Johnson and his wife, Mary Margaret, and Donald "Don" Johnson; two sisters, Emily Leake and Martha Anne Bourne and her husband, Stanley; a sister-in-law, Marion Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Clifton Vawter.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa with the Reverend Murphy Terry officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mae J. Corker to either Louisa Baptist Church, P.O. Box 552, Louisa, VA 23093, or Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
