Hattie Bernice Hamilton

Hattie Bernice Hamilton, departed this life Saturday, December 25, 2010, after suffering a long illness.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Reese and Mattie Hamilton; brother, Cecil Hamilton; sisters, Verdia Ragland and Marion Hicks; niece, Nancy Eccles; and nephews, Bobby and Pete Hamilton.

She is survived by a sister, Marie Bryant; and a brother, Warren Hamilton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; as well as life long friend, Margaret Harris.

She was a member of the Hinton Avenue Methodist Church for 61 years. Bernice retired from Centel Telephone and was a member of the Pioneers.

Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Holly Memorial Gardens on Seminole Trail, Charlottesville.

In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Hinton Avenue Methodist Church, Hospice of the Piedmont, or Hospice of Virginia.

I am so deeply saddened by hearing of the loss of Aunt Bernice! I will always remember the family get-togethers she had, Charlie Brown and her "Hamilton ways". Aunt Bernice I love you and you will remain in my heart forever...say hello to Dad for me!
