Dear Ellen Ann, Evonne, Jimmy and Timmy,
We are so sorry to hear of your father's death. He was a great fisherman and I remember many times him coming to go fishing with my father!! Unfortunately, due to a recent fall, resulting in a broken wrist and surgery, my mother was unable to come to the visitation night or the funeral. Due to my work schedule, I was unable to do both as well. We send our deepest sympathy to you and know you are in our prayers.

Dear Ellen. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Your dad was a very special man and he will be missed by all who knew him. I am sure he has had a nice visit with my dad by now as they were both great friends and thought alot of each other. I know you did everything you could for your dad as you were always with him in his times of need. He told me so many times he didn;t know what he would do without you. God bless you and we know God blessed him with his place in Heaven. Love, Betty Pollard Davis

Tim...your father would have been so proud of you on the day of his funeral. You held yourself together, steady and calm, and piped him up to Heaven's Squad Room..He's looking down on you, his son, a chip off the old block...Tim--you, Val and Cody are in our thoughts at this time..you know how to get hold of us...

To the Batten family,
I worked at UVA years ago and Mr. Batten's office was across the hall from me in Halsey Hall. He always checked on me to make sure I was OK during the day as I was the only office downstairs expect his. I also live in Gordonsville and would see him out and about and sitting on his front porch. He was such a nice man and will be missed by many. My prayers are offered to the family. May God's Grace help you through this very difficult time.

My deepest sympathy to Mr. Jim's family.Jim was a close friend of my late aunt Mildred Mallory. Our family had the privledge of sharing many happy times with Mr Jim.He was a kind and caring man who was always friendly and easy to talk to,he loved the Lord and was faithful in His service. Our world is a little darker place when folks like Mr Jim leave us!
