Joanne Rixey Obituary
Joanne Bruce Rixey, 77, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Joanne was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on March 6, 1933, to John Strode Rixey and Barbara James Rixey; had a loving soul, a twinkle in her eye, and a turn for fashion and was loved by all.
Surviving Joanne is her sister, Ellen Rixey Barber of Charlottesville, Virginia; and her nephews, John Rixey Barber of Charlottesville, Virginia, William Strode Barber of Gordonsville, Virginia, and James Presley Barber of Charlottesville, Virginia, and their families.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper, Virginia, 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, with the Reverend Shelby Owen conducting the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant View Home, c/o P.O. Box 426, Broadway, VA 22815.
Condolences may be given at clore-english.com.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA 22701.
