I worked with John at Merrill Lynch in the early 90's. Nicest guy, sharp as a tack, generous to a fault. A great American and a big loss.

Jon Del Vitto was the love of my love, the best father ever and a devoted son and friend. He is certainly with God in heaven for his kindness and shining light that will burn brightly forever.

I did not know Jon long, but he became a trusted friend and guest-lectured for me twice - a task he said he thoroughly enjoyed and would love to have continued. We shared our financial backgrounds and always had much to talk about. May God's peace be with his family at this most difficult time.

The world is a dimmer place without Jon in it. I have many fond memories of laughing with Jon during our college years and since. He had a way of making you feel good about life--just because. Jon lived his life with gusto! We'll all miss him so very much.

We were close neighbors of Jon when he was growing up. He was a fine young man with many friends. You have our deepest condolences.

I met Jon, when he and several other members of the VA 4 came to Texas one summer, many years ago. It is with much trepidation, sorrow and disbelief I find myself writing this. While we lost contact many years ago, there was comfort knowing Jon was out there. I still find comfort knowing that while he is no longer physically with us, his spirit remains with each and every life he touched through his love; and his laughter. Godspeed my friend. The family remains in my thoughts and prayers.

It has been said that one should live a life so that when you die, more people are sad than happy - Jon certainly lived life and there are many sad people today. And while this sadness will remain, may the incredible memories Jon provided give us the sunshine we need to smile and feel fortunate for having known him.
Prayers and thoughts - Don

I worked at B of A when Jon worked at the OCC covering B of A. I got to know him well; he was a great guy, absolute decency and integrity and professionalism, and I will miss him. Last year when I lost my job at B of A, Jon gave me some good advice and passed my resume around. He didn't have to do it, and I couldn't return the favor, but he went out of his way to help me personally. I have known many people in my career, but Jon was really outstanding, and I know several of my coworkers felt the same way.

The world seems dimmer without Jon in it. His enthusiasm, humor and joie de vivre were incomparable. May Carol, Tessa, Rhett, Todd, Lynn, Pete and Shirley find peace, knowing that your husband, father, brother and son brought joy to so many.

Jon was cherished and admired by his OCC co-workers. The huge outpouring of emotion on his passing is a telling tribute to the man. We will miss his opinions, big smile and even bigger personality. My sincerest condolences to the Del Vitto family.
PS: Tess, your Dad loved you very, very much!

Over the years, I worked with Jon on OCC exams/projects in DC, London and NYC. He loved showing off pictures of his daughter, Tessa. In addition to his great expertise in the investment area, I'll remember his wicked sense of humor - he was always a lot of fun to be around. Jon will be missed greatly. My condolences go out to his family.

Jon was a pleasure to work with. His incisive mind and quick sense of humor were much admired. He had a great capacity of remembering things about people that made one feel he took a real interest in those around him. He was never too busy to lend a hand or give direction and advice to those in need. My condolences to his family.
