Katherine M. Duncan

Katherine Morris Duncan, 88, of Keswick, died Monday, January 11, 2010, at the Hospice of the Piedmont Hospice House.

Born November 10, 1921, in Troy, she was the daughter of late Ivanhoe S. Morris and Lounelle Haden Morris and was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clayton Scott Duncan Jr.; and by six brothers.

She was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church, Wildwood, and worked with her husband for many years at his business Duncan-Brown Insurance Agency.

She is survived by her children, Judith D. Herring and her husband, William, of Lake Monticello, Patricia L. Duncan and her husband, Bobby Ballard, and Clayton S. Duncan III of Charlottesville; 11 grandchildren, William, Kelly, Ruth, Joel, Joanna, Leslie, Ryan, Taylor, Tucker, Molly, and Riley; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 1p.m. Friday, January 15, 2010, at Salem United Methodist Church, Wildwood with the Reverend David LeFon officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont Hospice House, 501 Park Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902
