Lucy Rawlings Wormley

Lucy Rawlings Wormley, 90, of Orange County, departed this life on Friday, November 27, 2009, at the Culpeper Regional Hospital, after an illness.

She was born March 25, 1919, in Orange County to the late Luke and Harriett Quarles Rawlings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Wormley; and a daughter, Carriebell Wormley.

Mrs. Wormley is survived by five daughters, Edna Spruiell and Columbus, and Annie Wormley, all of Danberry, Connecticut, Charlotte Bowles, and Sarah Wormley and Emmett, all of Orange, and Leia Davis and Jimmy of Levitown, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Shirley and Harriett Lewis and Webb, all of Orange; five brothers, Russell and Howard of Pennsylvania, and Raymond Rawlings Sr. Billy Rawlings and Norris Rawlings, all of Orange; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends,

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Orange with interment to follow at the church cemetery. Pastor Joseph A. Moore will officiate.

There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 12 until 5 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009. A second viewing will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. time of service, Saturday, December 5, 2009.
