In Loving Memory of Grover Clevland Wormley Jr.
1948 - 2025
Grover Cleveland Wormley Jr. was born in Bryan, Texas, to Grover Cleveland Wormley Sr. and Mateva Blake Wormley on December 7, 1948. He was the oldest of ten siblings-three brothers and six sisters.
Grover graduated from Kirkpatrick High School in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1967. Over the years, he became known as a hardworking handyman, a true jack-of-all-trades who could fix or build just about anything. He loved playing dominoes, listening to jazz music, and spending time on the front porch, sharing stories and laughter with family and neighborhood friends.
But more than anything, Grover was known for his quick wit and legendary highside sessions. He had a way of talking plenty of mess, keeping folks on their toes, and turning any gathering into a good time. If you ever heard him say "Awwww shxxxxtttt!" (or, as it sounded, "shhhheeeettt!"), you knew something was about to go down-either a joke, a life lesson, or both. He enjoyed his brewsky and never hesitated to share, making sure everyone around him felt welcome.
He was a loving father to Missy and Trey, a proud grandfather of three, and a great-grandfather of six. He also held a special place in the hearts of his many nieces and nephews, who fondly remember his affectionate greetings: "Hey, Niecey! Hey, Big'in!"
Grover was preceded in death by his parents, Mateva and Grover Wormley Sr.; two sisters, Patricia Magnuson and Marilyn Wormley; one brother, Don Wormley; and a grandchild, Trelynn Wormley.
He is survived by his two children, Missy Wilson and Trey Wormley; two brothers, Kevin Wormley and Reginald Wormley (DeeDee); and four sisters, Nita Wormley, Lovie Mays (Dwight), Janis Wormley and Pam Osborne (William). He also leaves behind two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
His legacy of love, laughter, and a little bit of mess-talking will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
"Till we meet again, Grover (G-Money)."
