Mildred Marie Baker

Mildred Marie Baker, 81, of Keswick, died Saturday, December 26, 2009, at her residence.

She was born June 12, 1928, in Albemarle County, and was a daughter of the late James Edgar Gibson and Julia Ann Kirby Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved aunt and uncle, Mossie Lee Kirby Gries and Elmer Gries.

Mrs. Baker is survived by two daughters, June Elizabeth Perkins and her husband, Maurice, of Palmyra, and Susan Leticia Baker of Media, Pennsylvania; one son, George Edgar Baker of Keswick; and nine grandchildren, Eric Thomas, Katherine Thomas, Ward Perkins, Anne Perkins, Johnny Remis, Laura Remis, Pauly Remis, Haley Remis, and Dawn Barrett.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville, with interment in Preddy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The Reverend Larry Wingfield and the Reverend Mike Plaster will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009, at the funeral home prior to the service.

Marie was the sweetest lady I have ever had the opportunity to meet,
I know George and he is a very nice man and I think the world of them both and Marie will be greatly missed.
