Arlene Baker

Arlene V. Baker, 78, of Belford, passed away on November 20, 2025 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. A lifelong resident of New Jersey, she was born in Jersey City and has lived in Belford since 1978. Arlene worked as a medical assistant for many years. Arlene was an exceptional cook and baker much to her family's delight. She enjoyed preparing new recipes as well as the family favorites. Arlene also enjoyed traveling, especially cruising and spending time with her family. She loved animals and had numerous pets throughout her life. Arlene leaves behind her dog Lexi, whom she adored.
Arlene is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Arthur W. Baker; three children, Cheryl and her husband Peter Vaspory of Hamilton Square, NJ, Lisa Baker and Harry Sievers of Aberdeen, NJ and Arthur T. Baker and his wife Kyle of Gilbertsville, PA; a sister Geralynn Turco, a brother Danny Turco, sisters in law Shirley (Karl) Karlsson, Kathy Zalewski, all of Florida, Kim (Tim) Adornetto, IL, Cyndi (Bill) Harbeson of PA, and Missy Baker, OH, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Arlene was a loving and caring "Nana" of five grandchildren, Scott Vaspory, Craig Vaspory, Jillian Vaspory, Brooke Baker, Ryan Baker; and great-granddaughter, Valerie Vaspory.
Arlene was preceded in death by her father, Jerry J. Turco, mother, Elizabeth M. (nee Allgeyer), brother George Turco, nephew Karl (Butchie) Karlsson and granddaughter Jessica Vaspory.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 7th from 11:00am-1:30pm at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown, NJ. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 1:30pm.
