Robert A. Dana

Robert A. Dana died Thursday, November 19, 2009, at his home in Scottsville, Virginia, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and relocated to Richmond, Virginia, in 1986. A graduate of Western Michigan, he worked as a regional medical sales manager for Stryker Corporation and MDT Corp then turned to his passion of woodworking and residential renovations for his vocation. Bob was a talented and highly regarded cabinetmaker, beloved friend and "gentle-man" to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Ashworth; two sisters, Dorothy Dana and Kathy Dana; and three nephews.

Burial is private and a celebration of Bob's life is scheduled for Saturday, December 19, 2009, at his home.

The family requests contributions be made to Continuum Home Health Care at University of Virginia Medical Center, Attn Mary Crandle, P.O. Box 800780, Charlottesville, VA 22908-0780.

Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville is handling arrangements.
