MILLBURY– MARK W. DANA, 81, passed away on Sunday, November 23rd after spending the day surrounded by the love of his family at CareOne in Millbury.
Mark “Mr. M” leaves his wife of 52 years Eileen “Mrs. M” (McArdle) Dana, daughter JoAnn Dana of Washington, DC and son Joseph Dana & his wife Kristen (Boire) and grandchildren Olivia and Nolan Dana all of Millbury. He also leaves his niece Courtney Ordway and nephew Matthew Ordway as well as countless other nieces, nephews and dear friends. Mark was pre-deceased by his parents Mary and Morris Dana, his siblings Marshall, Meredith and Merril Dana and his first wife Donna (Chute) Dana.
Mark lived the entirety of his life in West Millbury and spent his professional career at the MassAmerican Water Company where he rose from meter-reader with good friend Bob Bernard to Manager of the Millbury, Grafton and Oxford Water Departments. He retired from the Water Company after serving his community for over 30 years. Once retired he proudly continued to serve the residents of West Millbury as it’s Cemetery Commissioner.
Mark was an avid outdoorsman. Passionate about hunting, fishing & other outdoor sports - All endeavors he pursued with a group of life-long friends whom he joins in eternity including David Neeham, Huddy Matson, Joe Krumsiek and Butch Dattis
Mark was also a gentleman farmer raising livestock on his family farm in a barn built by hand from pine sourced and milled from trees on the family property.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mark’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Sunday, Nov. 30th from 2 to 5 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.
His funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 1st at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in West Millbury Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to support Mark’s beloved hometown at the Millbury Historical Society, P.O. Box 367, Millbury, MA 01527.
All funds will go towards the benefit of the Grass Hill School in West Millbury.
