Collins Jr. Russell Whitney Collins Jr., 82, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Raised in Scottsville, Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Annie Collins.

Russell served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict and later worked and retired as a truck driver for V.T.L. Russell and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 3103 and Masonic Lodge 45 in Scottsville.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruby L. Collins; a stepdaughter, Brenda Leake of Fredericksburg; a son, Gregory Collins of Kent Store; a sister, Joan M. Collins of Scottsville; a nephew, Marc Collins of Fredericksburg; a brother-in-law, Ted Mauck and his wife, Roseanne, of Michigan; and many cousins.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.

A graveside service will follow 12 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Paul Harfst officiating.
