Miller Marion Cline

Susie Yvonne Miller Marion Cline "Grammies", 73, of New Canton, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009, at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

She was born October 8, 1936, in Buckingham County, to the late Carl L. and Virginia Newton Miller. She was the widow of Johnny L. Marion Sr. and Alvin A Cline Sr. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Vern Miller; and sisters, Bertha Miller, Doris Mayo and Shirley Chancellor.

She is survived by her four children, John L. Marion Jr. and his wife, Linda, of New Canton, Randy L. Marion and his wife, Colleen, of Chesterfield, Diana M. Winslett and her husband, Keith, and Beckey M. Martin and her husband, Buster, of New Canton; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Snoddy and her husband, Charles, Katheryn Smith and her husband, Bruce, Matthew Marion and his wife, Leigh, Kristen Marion and her husband, BJ, Sharon Marion-Hart and her husband, Cory, Daniel Marion, Paul Winslett, Michael Winslett, Melissa Winslett, Sara Martin-Bean and her husband, Chris, and Staci Atkinson and her husband, Jason; seven great-grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob Snoddy, (twins) Seth Madison and Mason Gormus, Natalie Hart and Marissa Atkinson. She is also survived by five sisters, Martha Snoddy and Margaret Gunter, both of Arvonia, Peggy Marion of New Canton, Amanda Morris and Ethel Landes, both of Fork Union; two brothers, James L. Miller of Denver, Colorado and Avis Miller of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one uncle, Howell Newton of Arvonia; and her devoted companion, Dennis Hines.

Her heart and home was always open to anyone who came through her door, she was beloved of all who knew her. She was a wonderful mother and a second mom to many. She was an angel amoung us, always ready to listen and provide guidance in her own wisdom. She will greatly be missed and leaves behind her loving family she created.

A special thanks to the the doctors, nurses and staff at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the American Lung Association, Welcome Wesleyan Church or Martha Jefferson Hospital.

A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at Welcome Weslyan Church, Route 15, Arvonia, with interment at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at the Colbert Funeral Home in Bremo Bluff, Virginia.

To the family of Aunt Susie, My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Susie was a special Aunt and will always be a special memory for me. She always had a big hug and a sweet smile just for me. She will be greatly missed by us all and especially at the Family Gatherings. Love, Rachel
