Virginia retired from State Farm Insurance in 1974 to care for her first grandchild and continued to provide child care until January, 2005 when she suffered her first stroke. Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff from Charlottesville Health and Rehabilitation for their care and compassion during Virginia's illness and Hospice of the Piedmont for their kindness and care during the past few months.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2009, at the Teague Chapel with Mr. Scott Carter and Mr. Stan Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.

Larry and Pat,

I was so sorry to find out your Mom had passed. I visited her on 11/22 and didn't know she had another stroke, but I did have a nice visit with her. She was a special lady. I could not believe she and her room mate went to be with the LORD the same day. GOD is so good. I'm sure she is heaven "Praising the Lord"

I grew up with your family but I feel closer now than when we were young. My father is in heaven with your Mom and Dad.
