Gilbert Godeaux Obituary
OPELOUSAS - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Chataignier for, Gilbert Godeaux. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Godeaux Cemetery in Swords, LA.
Gilbert was a resident of Ville Platte. He passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Baton Rouge General Hospital, at the age of 66.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Linda Faul Godeaux of Swords, LA., his mother, Mrs. Rose Corkin Godeaux of Swords, his children, Peter Godeaux of Swords, Joshua Godeaux and wife, Brooke of Opelousas, Gary Godeaux of Arnaudville, Stephen Godeaux of Grand Prairie, Sonja Fremin and husband, Tance of Judice, LA., Roxsan Godeaux of Vatican, LA., Angelique Castille and husband, Shane of Denham Springs, Laura McDavid of Chataignier, LA., Rebekah Godeaux and husband, Anthony Lanclos of Baton Rouge, Margaret Godeaux and husband, Layton of Tampa, FL., and Joan Smith and husband, Alex of Grand Prarie, twenty grandchildren, sisters, Anna Darbonne, Stella Godeaux, Katheline Fontenot, Katherine Joubert, Dolores Briley, Diane Texada, and Elizabeth Dato, brothers, Dewey, Edward, Ferrel, Terrel, Ray Allen and Roland Godeaux.
He was preceded in death by his father, Antoine Godeaux, and one grandchild, Liam McDavid.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, June 7, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Friday.
Words of Comfort to the family may be expressed at www.sibillefuneralhomes.com. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.
