TIGNOR, John Paul Carrollton- John Paul Tignor, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend died peacefully at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas on June 29, 2017 surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with mucoepidermoid carcinoma. He was born on August 25, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA and was the youngest son of Robert Tignor, a Presbyterian minister and Martha Stalter Tignor, a Latin teacher. He briefly attended The College of Wooster in Wooster, OH before transferring to Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA where he graduated in 1973. John loved tennis and was incredibly active with the Carrollton Tennis Association where he served on the CTA Board of Directors and as captain of the Tuesday night men's doubles league. He was an avid skier and spent one month during college in a study program in Stuben, Austria where he skied and learned German and spent one year skiing and working in Stowe, VT. He loved telling the story of meeting Maria von Trapp of the famous Von Trapp family from The Sound of Music while he was there. John loved to travel and had many great adventures throughout the country with his family. He delighted in being active, learning new things, playing games and discussing politics and his much-loved Philadelphia Eagles. He was active with environmental organizations and loved family trips to the national parks. John was a long ago friend at The College of Wooster. He was very pleasant to be with. After all of these years I decided to see what John was up too. I am sorry I did not do it sooner. A precious life lost too soon. My condolences to his family.

My brother John, was a wonderful person, full of life and loving it. He was such a fighter and has inspired many of us. Even though distance was great, we always felt his presence. We miss you, John.
