My Grandmother was an incredible woman. She taught me so many things, and was such a force in all our lives. I miss and think of her daily. She taught me that family is everything. She loved to travel and shop. She wasn't able to do either in her later years, but her wonderful memories were there, and we remininced a lot. Her mind was incredibly sharp and that was a blessing to us all.

I remember Rita very well. My and my cousins, Lisa and Brian, would go to her apartment, and have great times! She was such a wonderful, sweet lady. We have many great times with her. I know she will be very missed. I am a little late in responding, but my thoughts have been with the family. What a beautiful tribute to her on this website. What wonderful pictures!!

Rita and I talked for the first time on Good Friday, 2010. It was only 7 weeks ago, on Father's Day weekend, when we first met. However, our history had crossed over 140 years ago as we shared the same great great grandparents. The family tree had split in 1920's and has since reconnected. In the short hours we talked, Rita learned her mother's middle name was Ann. In return, I learned how my great greandfather had come to die at such a young age. Rita was a direct handshake back to people in our family born in the 1850's, 1860's. I am ever so grateful to have met such a wonderful Lady.

I offer the Bridge family my condolences on the loss of your mother. May the "peace of God that excels all thought" see you through this time of sadness.

Over 20+ years I grew very fond of Rita and considered her not only a neighbor but a close friend. She will be missed on a daily basis. I always checked to make sure the blinds in her bedroom were open in the morning and seeing them closed will be a constant reminder that we've let her move on to a better place.
