James Scroggin Obituary

Scroggin, James Scroggin, James Vernon Jr., age 86, of McKinney, Texas went to be with his Lord on 9/28/2011. He was born 9/3/1925 in Dallas, TX to James Vernon Scroggin Sr. and Nancy Brown Scroggin. He married Joyce Erwin in Dallas, TX on June 15, 1951. He attended Milwaukee School of Engineering and graduated in 1956 with a degree in electronic technology. He served in the Merchant Marine during WWII and subsequently in the Navy during the Korean War. He earned the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was a longtime resident of Richardson, TX (48 years) and retired from Texas Instruments. Jim recently moved to McKinney and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He enjoyed his family, WWII history, fishing, and Joyce's cooking. Jim will be remembered by his loving wife of 60 years and their children Joni Scroggin Curtis and husband Michael and James Erwin Scroggin and wife Debbie. He is also survived by three grandsons, one granddaughter, two great grandchildren, three nieces and three nephews. He is preceded in death by Parents, Sister LaVerne Scroggin Giacomo and Brother Clayton Cornelius Scroggin. Funeral service Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 12:30pm at Restland Memorial Chapel. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Interment at Restland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to charity of your choice.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear husband and father. We enjoyed a lot of good times together. I wish we would be here to comfort you during this loss, but we will be out of state. We will try to find you when we return. We love you and will be praying for all of you.
