News Death Notice
GUERRANT, Jay Howard Age 47 , of Union, Ohio passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, August 8, 2009. Jay was born in Dayton, April 19, 1962, was a U.S. Navy Veteran & an avid musician with the band 3 - Minus Me. Preceded in death by his parents, Harold E. & Martha Guerrant. Survived by his beloved wife, Tonya; daughter, Jacy;3 sons, Jamie, Brandon, & Cory; step-son, Jeremy Griffith; grand daughter, Sidney; 2 sisters & brothers-in-law, Paula Ranae & David Ransdell & Amy Ann & Gary Shaffer. Funeral service 1:30 P.M. Thursday at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "North Dayton Chapel", 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Pastor Ed Clements, Officiating. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30 P.M. Thursday until time of service at the George C. Martin Funeral Home. We know the way you are going is very hard . We know you have ask a 100 over the why .we'll never know the why we just feel the hurt. but one thing for sure God is on our side . he will never leave us he is always there . just ask him . & he will be there .
we are sorry we had to leave you all so soon .but for you to know you are in our prays & hearts every min of the day . we love you all .Our family has always been there for each other .we feel your pain & broken hearts . Tonya Jayie .our hearts break for you both . We can't believe how many friends jay had . as we laid him to rest yesterday .saw so many cars follow us to his resting place .I thank God for every one that was there to comfort you .I though our pastor did a wonderful job of comforting us . we all are there for you both . that is just the way our family as always been when one of us is pain we are . we love you so much . and we loved Jay .we always had time to talk to us .so if you need so one to talk to you .I'm just a phone call away all our Uncle Boyd Aunt Anna & family

I am sorry to hear about Jay. I have not seen him in years but I have tons of memories of us all growing up in the neighborhood.. My prayers are with the family as he will be sorely missed.

So sorry for your loss Tonya and Family. You have to keep the good memories in mind of Jay. He was a thoughtful man who helped you if you needed anything. I have known Jay for nearly 30 years, he was always happy to see his friends and just hang out. I too will cherish all the memories of the neighborhood the good times as well as the tough times growing up, Jay was always the big brother looking out for us....God Bless his Family and Friends, He is with you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
