Family-Placed Obituary


ALMASY, Stephen age 78 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2005. He was a veteran of the 3rd Marine Division having served his country in Vietnam as a Military Chaplain in 1966. He attended St. Joseph College, Loyola and Southeastern College earning his Bachelor and Masters Degree's. Mr. Almasy was employed at the V.A.C.O. as an Equal Employment Opportunity Investigator in Washington, DC. He was a member of AMVETS Post 24, American Legion Post 619, VFW Post 431 where he served as Chaplain, and the North Dayton Democratic Club. Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sharon; brother, Michael Almasy & wife Irene of GA; sister, Marie Judge & husband Walter of FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Friends may call Friday, August 19, 2005, from 5 to 8 PM at the MAGETTI GAVIN FUNERAL HOME, 1508 Valley Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said 10:00 AM Saturday, August 20, 2005, at Our Lady of The Rosary Church with Father Michael Holloran Celebrant. Prayers 9:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton in memory of Mr. Almasy.
