News Death Notice

JERVIS, Janet Manthey Age 84, long time resident of Oakwood, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Janet was born to the late Willard and Lucille (Sauer) Manthey on September 1, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from Withrow High School and attended the University of Cincinnati where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Janet was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She taught Sunday school, was a Girl Scout leader and school room mother. Janet was a very active member and past officer of the Chi Omega Alumnae group, past president of Dayton Alumnae Panhellenic Association, past president of the Gourmet Club and charter member and office holder of the Republican Council of Oakwood. She also was a member of Dayton Philharmonic Women's Group, Dayton Women's Club, Dayton and Cincinnati Dance Assembly, Dayton Garden Club, past member of the Dayton Country Club and also many bridge clubs. She was preceded in death in 2013 by her husband of sixty-two years, Thomas R. Jervis. Janet is survived by her children, Jeri Jervis, Janna Erbaugh (Mark), Tom Jervis (Lynne) and John Jervis (Lori); her grandchildren, Kristin Kassmann (Brent), Kaitlin Schmidt, J.T. and John Erbaugh, Tommy and Katie Jervis, Trent, Logan and Taylor Jervis; and two great-grandsons, Tyler and Carter Kassmann. A memorial service will be held at 5pm on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering. Family will greet friends following the service until 7:30pm.
