Michael Gardner Class of 1968

May 12, 2022

Dr. Christenson, as I said before, was the best teacher ever. My friend Paul Posner and I took every class of his we could. Paul, (PhD., prof at George Mason U). sadly is gone now too. I miss them both so much. Those really were the days.

dr christenson was my favorite prof. he waived a lot of pre-req's for me so i could take my first political science class, "National Issues." it changed my life and how i looked at the world.

my sincerest condolences. may he rest in peace.

Dr. Christenson was a shining light. His capacity to stimulate thoughtful dialog, his commitment to critical thinking and his ability to stimulate us to engage with the world outside the university and beyond our comfort zone stand as testaments to his skill as a professor. Almost 25 years out of his classroom I can still hear his distinct voice. I was most fortunate to have been his student.

Dr. Christenson was the best teacher I ever had. He taught ideas and communicated values with insight wit humor and kindness. The class he led right after Martin Luther King's assassination had all the power and humanity one could ever hope for at a time like that. He was a graceful writer and fine prof, but most of all a really decent human being. The best.

Dr. Christenson was, hands down, one of the very best profs on campus. I was privileged to take his classes as well as work as his assistant in the late 1960s. He will be missed. God bless and comfort you in your loss.
