Ruth White Obituary
Age 89, of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011.
She was born in Wilmington on February 27, 1922.
Ruth will be remembered not only for her devotion to her family, but also for her love of antiques, jewelry, gardening, singing and beachcombing. Ruth fulfilled her lifelong dream when she purchased a home in Delaware City in 1973 and opened her own business 'Dragon Run Antiques". Her warmth, kindness, generosity and delightful sense of humor brought a smile to all lucky enough to have known her. Ruth will live on in our memories and our hearts. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Carolina Tutt, Doug White (wife Susan), Christina DiVirgilio, Eileen Keating, Louis C. White (wife Aneka), and Pamela "Penny" Gallup (husband Rick); adored grandmother of Richard, Kimberly, Carolee, Robert, Steven, Natalee, David, Melissa and Caroline; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Allen White, and granddaughter Trina.
You are invited to attend Ruth's funeral service on Monday, July 18, at 1 pm at BEESON FUNERAL HOME OF NEWARK, 2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702. Family will begin to receive guests starting at 11 am. Interment will follow at Delaware City Cemetery.

Mrs. White was one of the kindest people I have met in my 27 years of residency in Delaware City. She was generous in many ways, but her ever-flowing kindness to others and greetings of friendship will be her legacy to our town. Her family can count themselves blessed for carrying a piece of her on in their hearts and lives. I pray for consolation as you grieve your beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mom Mom was one of the true great ladies. She was truly a beautiful person in every way. I can't think of a kinder, more generous person that I've ever met in my lifetime. I am blessed to have known her from my teen years and my daughters, Caitlin and Meredith were also blessed to have her as their great-grandmother. My deepest sympathy goes out to her extensive family and those fortunate enough to call her friend. I loved her and she will be missed and thought about forever and always.
