A loving and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 25, 2008, at the age of 79 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on February 24, 1929, the son of the late Albert Takash and Elizabeth Pass Takash. He served in the military during the Korean conflict in Germany for two years. Upon his return, he went to work for DuPont as a research technician, retiring in 1992 with forty years of service. John was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer, receiving many trophies and awards. He also enjoyed gardening and playing cards with his buddies at the DuPont Country Club where he was a member.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Sharpley, Elma Freibel, Mildred Greer and his brother, Joseph Takash. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Beatrice Jamison Takash; sons, John Takash Jr. and wife Daralice, Gary Takash and his wife Anna; daughters, Mary Lou Faas and her husband Tom, and Sharon Braucht and her husband Charles. He had 8 grandchildren, Shealynn Seaman and her husband Chris, John Takash III, Rebecca Takash, Phillip Schweiger, Michael and Steven Maden, Leonid Kvptsov, and Uleanna Morose and her husband Vladimere. He had 2 great-grandchildren, Urie and Anna Morose. We will miss his sense of humor, quick wit, and all the fun he brought to every family get together.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, on Thursday, July 31, at 11:30 am, where visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of John may be sent to the Heartland Hospice 261 Chapman Road Suite 100, Newark, DE 19702.
