My condolences to the entire Toliver family. I had the pleasure of having Mr. Toliver as a teacher at Krebs and I have a lot of fond memories of him. Whenever I talk to someone about Krebs, his name always comes up. I remember how he always told us to “THINK”...he wrote it in my yearbook. He cared about each student and we loved him because he treated us all like we were important and that our opinion counted. As a teenager, that meant a lot to all of us. And who can forget all of the class trips…our class went to Virginia. He just had such a passion for teaching and everyone respected him. He will always be remembered as a truly special person and he will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Rest in peace Mr. T.

Mr T, you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. You are an example of the power of one man to positively influence so many. You were right, you don't know, what you don't know, what you really don't know. I do know now though that your influence in my life was a blessing. THINK about it. God Bless you and your family. It was a privilege to know you.

My condolences to the Toliver family. What a great man, mentor, teacher, & coach. Mr Toliver didn't only teach from the books, he taught from life experiences and what was correct. What a fair and honorable disciplinarian, he would always get to the facts before a decision was made.
God Bless,

I'm sorry for your loss of one of the men who was influential in my life. I had Mr. Toliver as a coach at Kreb Jr. High and a teacher back in 1970 and 1971. I also remember one his favorite sayings to us students at one time or another. "Don't make me slap you on that bad head", with only the accent that Mr. Toliver could say it in.
Rest in Peace Mr. Toliver and I'm only saying so long for now and we'll see each other again in heaven.
May God Bless You and Your Family! George Adkins - Naples, Florida

What a wonderful educator, that pushed us to "think" when we were "missing the point!!". Mr. Toliver was one of the best teachers we had at Krebs School. Many things that didn't quite make sense then, eventually did. He was my, & my siblings, teacher in the early thru mid '60's. Thank you Mr. Toliver. Our sympathies to his family.

Mr. Toliver was my Social Studies/Civic teacher @ Krebs in the early 70's. He was the coolest teacher in Krebs, a mentor in every sense of the word. I remember his 'hat', "THINK", and his passion to teach us to have respect for ourselves & others. My deepest sympathy & prayers to your family.

The original "Mr. T". What a great teacher and mentor. He was no doubt many students favorite teacher. I recall him writing "THINK" in large letters on that old dusty chalk board. The class trips had to be a huge undertaking but I'm sure he continued them for the students. He could really get the class going about the death penalty. "If I did not give that life, I can not take that life". Was his belief. Many years later I would see Mr. Toliver at the Evergreen Center when dropping of my father. He still had that twinkle in his eye and the group loved seeing photos of him in that favorite hat of his in my old Krebs Salute. God Speed Mr. T. Our prayers are with your family.

The world needs more teachers and more men like Mr. Toliver. He had a passion for teaching, inspiring and encouraging kids to put their best effort into what they did. I can still hear him say, "Think Mr. Benson. Think!" I am a better man because of him.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Toliver's passing. He was my favorite teacher of all times! He had such a way with young people. I loved all of his sayings, like "think, but don't think too much." He always said every class trip would be the last one, but he kept going on them. May he rest in peace.
