Vance Senecal Obituary
and
Marian Joyce Cramer Senecal
Vance Evan Senecal, 90, and Marian Joyce Cramer Senecal, 89, died peacefully together at home on May 25, 2012, from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. They had been married for 67 years. They met during World War II when Vance was an injured Navy pilot-in-training and Marian was a Navy nurse. As they were an inseparable couple, it is fitting that they died together.
Vance was born on August 16, 1921, in Phillipston, PA, son of Leon and Ruth (Stevens) Senecal. Marian was born on December 15, 1922, in Mifflin, PA, daughter of John and Selina (Showers) Cramer. Vance earned his PhD in chemical engineering at Carnegie Tech, and was the Director of Engineering Research at the DuPont Experimental Station. Later he became DuPont's Executive Director for Educational Aid. Marian earned her RN at Harrisburg Polyclinic, and was a homemaker and nurse to the family. They were long-time residents of Silverside Heights and Welshire, and active members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. More recently, they enjoyed many new friendships at the Stonegates retirement community in Greenville.
They are survived by four sons: Vance and his wife Lynne Bruehlman, David, Keith and his wife Kristin, Scott and his wife Olga, and by two granddaughters Kathryn and Emma.
The family will receive condolences at St. Mark's Lutheran Church (501 Duncan Road, Bellefonte) on June 11 from 6-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to St. Mark's (www. saintmarkslc.com) or to the charity of your choice.

I was sorry to hear of the passing of your parents. I was your father's secretary from 1960-1965 at the Dupont Experimental Station. I never met your mother, but your father spoke often of his love for her and for his family. My prayers and thoughts are with your family at this difficult time.
